Solo is a 4 piece rock band ranging from hypnotic ballads to guitar-driven walls of sound. Originating in Albion and Medina, NY, guitarist, Matt Hobart and drummer, Andy Bemont started messing around with some old equipment when they realized they had something. So they recruited several different band members here and there. They came and they went. However, an original sound began molding when singer James Ashbery joined. They clicked and soon began writing original pieces. When they finally got everything polished up in Sept. 2000, they headed into DUNGEON Studios at R.U.T. Records in Corfu, NY. Matt had known the owner of R.U.T., Dan Bess, through another local band Forsaken several years before. New sounds began emerging from old originals in the studio and the instrumental, "Untitled", was even written at the studio. At the present time, Solo is getting their 12-song cd replicated and will soon be made available to the public through Solo's official website, "direct.at/solo" .
